Smoked Scotch Eggs | BBQ-Style, Smoky, and Packed with Flavor

These **Smoked Scotch Eggs** take a traditional English favorite and give it a **BBQ twist** with smoky sausage, tangy mustard, and our signature FL Gulf BBQ rub. Smoked low and slow, then basted in your favorite BBQ sauce, these make the perfect appetizer or breakfast bite with bold flavor in every bite.

Great for meal prep, parties, or your next brunch spread—these smoked eggs hold up well in the fridge, but honestly, good luck not devouring them straight off the smoker!

Yields: 8-10 Servings | Prep Time: 10 Minutes | Total Time: 60 Minutes

INGREDIENTS:

8-10 medium-large eggs
1 lb. Italian sausage (or sausage of your choice)
1 tbsp brown mustard
6 tbsp FL Gulf BBQ seasoning
BBQ sauce of your choice

🔥 PROCESS:

1 | Let the sausage sit at room temperature for easier mixing.

2 | In a bowl, combine sausage, **brown mustard**, and **4 tbsp FL Gulf BBQ**. Mix thoroughly.

3 | Fill a pot with water to cover eggs by 1 inch and bring to a boil.

4 | Gently lower eggs into boiling water, keeping them in a single layer.

5 | Boil for **3-4 minutes** for medium-runny yolks.

6 | Transfer eggs to an ice bath to stop cooking. Cool completely.

7 | Carefully peel eggs and pat dry.

8 | Preheat smoker to **250°F**.

9 | Portion the sausage and gently wrap each egg fully in a medium-thick layer of sausage.

10 | Sprinkle the remaining **FL Gulf BBQ** over the sausage-wrapped eggs.

11 | Place eggs evenly on the smoker and cook for **45-50 minutes**.

12 | Baste with your favorite BBQ sauce during the last **10-15 minutes** of smoking.

13 | Remove, serve hot, and enjoy!

💣 Pro Tips for Perfect Smoked Scotch Eggs:
  • Medium-Runny Yolks: 3-4 minute boil gives you the perfect balance of creamy and firm inside.
  • BBQ Baste: Basting near the end of the cook locks in that smoky glaze.
  • Make-Ahead Friendly: These refrigerate well—perfect for party platters or meal prep.
🥚 Why These Smoked Scotch Eggs Are Next-Level:
  • Smoky BBQ Twist: Classic Scotch eggs elevated with BBQ flavor and smoky goodness.
  • Perfect Texture: Runny yolk, savory sausage, smoky crust—BBQ heaven in a bite.
  • Versatile Crowd-Pleaser: Serve as brunch, game day appetizer, or party finger food!
