Grilled Smoked Mac and Cheese Sandwich

If you’ve got leftover smoked mac and cheese, don’t even think about reheating it in a bowl—level up with this **Grilled Smoked Mac and Cheese Sandwich**. This cheesy, golden, crispy sandwich is bold comfort food done right. Loaded with smoky mac, layered with gooey cheese, and finished with a hit of All-Purp—this is the ultimate upgrade to your grilled cheese game.

Whether it’s made on a griddle, in a skillet, or over a campfire flat top, this sandwich delivers buttery crunch and smoky, melty goodness in every bite. Bacon optional (but highly recommended).

Yields: 1 Sandwich | Prep Time: 5 Minutes | Total Time: 10 Minutes

INGREDIENTS:

¾ cup smoked mac and cheese
2 slices thick sourdough bread
4 slices cheese (we used Swiss)
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp All-Purp

🔥 PROCESS:

1 | If cold, warm the mac and cheese on the griddle over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until pliable.

2 | Butter one side of each slice of bread.

3 | Place two slices of cheese on each slice of bread and sprinkle ½ tsp of All-Purp on each side.

4 | Shape the mac and cheese into a rectangle to fit the bread. Place it between the cheese layers, sprinkle another ½ tsp All-Purp, and close the sandwich (butter side out).

5 | Cook sandwich on a griddle or skillet over low-medium heat until golden brown on one side. Flip and repeat. Lower heat = smoother cheese melt.

6 | Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.

7 | Slice and serve hot.

💣 Pro Tips for the Ultimate Grilled Mac Sandwich:

  • Use smoked mac and cheese: Adds bold flavor and a BBQ twist that regular mac just can’t deliver.
  • Low and slow is key: Avoid burning the bread by cooking at a lower heat to fully melt the cheese.
  • Customize with extras: Add bacon, jalapeños, hot honey drizzle, or BBQ sauce for your own signature version.

🧄 Why You’ll Love This Grilled Mac and Cheese Sandwich:

  • Cheesy, smoky, and crunchy: All the best textures in one hand-held bite.
  • Insanely craveable comfort food: Perfect for lunch, midnight snacks, or impressing your BBQ guests.
  • Smoked seasoning kick: All-Purp adds BBQ rub depth with garlic, paprika, and savory goodness.
