Nothing says Florida like a fresh batch of **boiled peanuts**—a nostalgic Southern snack packed with bold, citrusy, and smoky flavors. Inspired by roadside stands and farmers markets, this recipe takes traditional boiled peanuts and adds a kick of **FL Fin & Fowl** and **FL All-Purp** seasonings for a Florida twist.
We slow-cook these peanuts with jalapeños, sour orange juice, and spices for a deeply flavorful snack perfect for tailgates, backyard parties, or just hanging out. Bonus: they store well for days—if they last that long!
Yields: 1 Batch | Prep Time: 15 Minutes | Total Time: 12-14 Hours
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs. raw peanuts, shell-on
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 jalapeños, halved lengthwise
8 oz. sour orange juice (or sub: 4 oz. orange juice + 2 oz. lemon juice + 2 oz. lime juice)
Water (to cover)
2 tbsp annatto powder (or sub smoked paprika)
4 tbsp FL Fin & Fowl
2 tbsp FL All-Purp
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
4-6 tbsp kosher salt
Cilantro leaves for garnish
1 | Rinse peanuts thoroughly to remove dirt. Drain well.
2 | In a slow cooker, combine **kosher salt, sour orange juice, garlic, jalapeños, annatto powder, FL All-Purp**, and **apple cider vinegar**.
3 | Add peanuts and **enough water to fully cover**. (Peanuts will float—this is normal.)
4 | Set slow cooker to **high**, stir well, cover, and cook for **10-14 hours**.
**Pro Tip:** We love letting them go overnight for max flavor.
5 | Check every few hours—add water if needed and adjust temperature if necessary.
6 | After about **10 hours**, stir in **FL Fin & Fowl** and **1-2 tbsp kosher salt**. Cook at least **1 more hour**.
7 | Once cooked, turn off the slow cooker and let peanuts **rest in the brine for 1-2 hours** to absorb more flavor.
8 | Test doneness: shells should be dark, and peanuts soft yet firm inside.
9 | Serve warm, ladling some of the flavorful brine over the peanuts. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
10 | Store leftovers in an airtight container **with some of the brine** for up to **10 days** in the fridge.
