Florida BBQ Compound Butter

Florida BBQ Compound Butter

There’s nothing quite like a good compound butter to take your meals from basic to badass. This Florida BBQ Compound Butter recipe is a flavor bomb, whipped up with softened butter and a smoky-spicy kick from Steak Shake — a bold blend of herbs, smoke, and heat made for steak, burgers, veggies, and more.

Whether you're finishing off a sizzling ribeye, spreading it over hot toast, melting it on baked potatoes, or basting seafood on the grill, this butter pulls double duty as a finishing touch and flavorful cooking fat. It’s also a great way to experiment with any BBQ rub in your lineup — from Apple Smack to Gulf BBQ.

Yields: 1 Log | Prep Time: 15 Minutes | Total Time: 2 Hours

INGREDIENTS:

2 sticks salted butter (softened)
2 tbsp Steak Shake
1 tsp pepper sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1–2 cloves garlic, pressed

🔥 PROCESS:

1 | In a bowl, add the softened butter, Steak Shake, pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic.

2 | Use a fork or hand mixer to combine until smooth and consistent in color — it should be evenly blended with seasoning specks throughout.

3 | Transfer the butter to a rectangle of parchment paper and shape into a log. Roll the parchment around it and twist the ends shut.
**Alternative:** Scoop tablespoon-sized rounds onto a baking sheet for easy portioning.

4 | Freeze until fully solid, then store in an airtight container. You can slice off what you need, when you need it.

5 | Chill for at least 4 hours in the fridge or 2 hours in the freezer before using.

6 | Butter can be used right away if your recipe doesn’t require it to be firm.

7 | Store up to 1 month in the fridge or indefinitely in the freezer in a sealed container.
